the prostate â € "Causes, treatments and cures

The prostate is about the size of a walnut and sits at the base bladder. A thin tube that allows passage of urine from the penis (urethra) runs through the prostate gland. Liquid produced by this gland helps to nourish and support the sperm, which comes from the seminal vesicles through the ejaculatory ducts into the urethra.

prostate cancer is a disease in which the prostate cells become abnormal. They start to grow uncontrollably, forming tumors. A tumor is a mass or a piece tissue composed of abnormal cells. Tumors can be benign or malignant. A malignant tumor can spread to other parts of the body. Malignant tumors are cancerous. Benign tumors can spread to other parts of the body.

Causes
Increasing age and presence of normal male hormones (testosterone and dihydrotestosterone [DHT]) are the known factors that contribute to BPH. A hormone called 5'-reductase converts testosterone into DHT in the prostate gland, which causes the expansion of the prostate. The concentrations of DHT in tissues of BPH has been shown to be higher compared to normal prostate tissue.
The actual cause of prostate cancer. It is believed that factors associated with aging and the testicles themselves may play a role in the growth of the gland. Men who have had their testicles removed at an early age (eg, after testicular cancer) do not develop BPH.

For some men, who suddenly becomes unable to urinate (known as acute retention). Studies have shown that acute retention affects between 1 and 2 per cent of men with BPH each year. This condition is very painful and requires immediate medical treatment to prevent damage to the kidneys, among other things.

Treatment
The surgeon (urologist), must first prove that the enlargement of the prostate is the cause of symptoms. It may be useful to measure urine output. This is a simple test, urinate into a large funnel and the time required for a volume of urine to pass is calculated electronically. The urologist also arrange an x-ray or ultrasound to image the bladder after voiding attempt. This will show if the prostate is the cause obstruction of the urethra. Ultrasound also check that the kidneys are normal. In some hospitals, the size and shape of the prostate can also be measured by ultrasound.

Drugs
Alpha blockers. These drugs were originally developed to treat hypertension. They relax the muscles around the bladder neck and make it easier to urinate. Four alpha blockers have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for treatment of BPH: terazosin (Hytrin), doxazosin (Cardura), tamsulosin (Flomax) and alfuzosin (Uroxatral).

Remedies
Pumpkin seeds are an effective home remedy for prostate problems and many patients have benefited its use. These seeds are rich in unsaturated fatty acids are essential for prostate health. People beyond the age of fifty, who have signs of prostate problems, or those who suffer from disorders of urination in some form, eg, burning or difficulty urinating freely, must be sixty to ninety grams of pumpkin horses per day.

Yes, the prostate cancer from a tumor. However, not one big mass. Rather, the tumor is multifocal. On average, seven homes. You may consider that each focal point of a tumor, if you want. Dr. Walsh, urologist probably the world leader (the pioneer of prostate surgery as we know it) suggests that we think of the prostate as a strawberry with seven small black dots. These tumors. Walsh said that the tumors appear in various places, because the prostate is subjected to a field "change" that transforms the entire prostate. "Multiple Tumors grow like dandelions everywhere of the time. Each point can be millimeters in size. "I've never heard of a non-cancerous tumor of the prostate. But I am not a doctor, and the person I ask is a urologist. There is no common conditions that cause non-cancerous prostate problems, even if, as inflammation or benign. And there can be areas of calcification.
