Religion and masturbation?

It is clear from the above questions here that different religions forbid masturbation and see as a sin. I have a family friend who is a sex counselor, and when the men arrived with erectile dysfunction or premature processing them is regular masturbation, and is a very effective treatment, especially after medication.
