How is it possible to have prostate cancer with a PSA of 2.8 and what are good treatments for it?
My father was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and his PSA was 2.8. I do not understand how this is possible if a low number. It is also aged 46. I would also like to know what treatment is best and why. Your options are: 1) radiation (but the problem with this is that it could harm other areas) 2) surgery (but it leaves you worse as you read a book. There are many problems with urination, where they can no longer be maintained, even when you laugh, and also creates a problem with your sex life, etc.) 3) seed implants (not sure of name, but to put these little seeds inside of you but it also has a side effect.) 4) just check every 2 months (which may live 10 to 15 years for doing nothing and just live with cancer as it is really bad, then try the above) what is the best option? please help! I'd be very happy! thank you!
I had a prostate cancer in 2005. I'm fine now. I had the proton radiation at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, California. The radiation of protons is that the conventional radiation. Proton radiation has little or no side effects .. It is very different from conventional radiation that you mention in your question. Average: 90% radiation therapy proton energy is delivered precisely the exact location to be treated. surrounding tissue and organs are not damaged. In my opinion, the proton radiation treatment is best for today prostate cancer. Has little or no side effects rate of healing and as good as or better than other treatments … The cure rate is about 90% without perhaps even a higher cure rate with a PSA level than their parents … and the path, I met several men with low PSA who had cancer prostate when I received my treatments .. My PSA was 4.5 and a Gleason score of 6. My PSA is 0.13 is now three points !!!!!!. You will find that all those who had proton radiation is such that it is sold as me … and why not .. no side effects and a cure rate very good .. Decision is clear ..
