According to the National Cancer Society, cancer of the prostate is a disease in which cancer cells in tissue prostate. Because the disease affects only men, and generally those who are adults, the disease can cause difficulty urinating, pain back and hip, blood in the urine and sexual dysfunction and pain in the release of sperm. There are treatments for prostate cancer, however, all are not as invasive as chemotherapy.
Surgery is a common treatment option, as you can either remove the lymph nodes in the Basin, may contain cancerous tissue, or prostate and surrounding cancerous tissue. If cancer cells in the lymph tissues, then there is no need to remove the entire prostate, but treatment is still necessary to eliminate cancer cells completely.
Radiation is another form of treatment of prostate cancer using X-rays and other forms of radiation to kill cancer cells to prevent growth and yield. Whether used internally or externally, radiation can cause urination and sexual problems in men receive this treatment. This option is only possible if the tumor is always found in the lymph nodes or prostate in full, and it is not necessary if the tumor has spread to his departure from the prostate. For this type of prostate cancer, hormone therapy may be used to delay or stop production of male hormones, which are mainly in the testicles. The testes, and one or both may also be removed during processing hormone to rid the body of androgens that create the male hormone.
For older men in the early stages of cancer prostate, watchful waiting can also be used. This is to observe tumor growth and speed control if the treatment be required. Some prostate cancers grow slowly, which means that the risk of cancer may be beneficial in the end of life stage where a man may be more sensitive to side effects of treatment. New treatments are being developed, such as cryotherapy, which freezes the cancer cells and destroy them. Ultimately, the treatment of choice is the right of each individual.
