You do not mention the age his father, but no mention of watchful waiting as an option for him, or do not want to wait and see how it goes? A lot of the rapid regression of stage prostate cancers by their own means, or stop growing. Depending on your age, could only wish to keep an eye on him and do nothing for him for a while. You be surprised how many people die from prostate cancer, not prostate cancer. Removal of the prostate at this point will very disencouraged due to say involving higher risks, so if you really want to get rid of cancer, brachytherapy is a good option.
