Can you drink moderately, while Bactrim DS?

Recently I was prescribed twice a day for thirty days for prescription Bactrim DS for a reoccuring problem of prostatitis. When I was on the Flagyl, the booklet that comes with very firm not to drink and the bottle No one had "alcohol while taking this drug" label. This recipe is none of these things, no warning label and has not, however, some internet browsing led me to reports that the use of Bactrim DS may cause contrainctions as Flagyl. I worry because I'm going to college in a week, and will inevitably be surrounded by alcohol. I understand that drunkenness is not good for me independently of antibiotics, but need to know if a few beers is fine. Additional Information: 18 years old, 5'10 ", 135 lbs.

Interactions between selected drugs trimethoprim ↔ ethanol is applied to: Bactrim DS (sulfamethoxazole / Trimethoprim), alcohol (contained within alcoholic drinks) (ethanol) generally avoid: Two cases were reported in which patients treated with trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, after consuming beer, reported flushing, palpitations, shortness of breath, headaches and nausea (disulfiram – alcohol type reactions). The proposed mechanism is inhibition of acetaldehyde dehydrogenase resulting from the accumulation of acetaldehyde.
