When a patient is first diagnosed with prostate cancer and made all the tests to determine the extent of the disease usually have an appointment with your doctor to discuss what is best. The treatment cancer-dependent spread of prostate cancer and for treatment. For example, prostate cancers are treated early with surgery, radiotherapy or watchful waiting. Surgery for prostate cancer is a real possibility for many men in the early stages of the disease and whether the subject should be discussed with a doctor. Prostate cancers are treated last minute with hormonal therapy, radiotherapy, chemotherapy or a combination of 3. Patients often have a choice in medical treatment and the advantages and disadvantages of each option explained. There is no better treatment of prostate cancer because the treatment will depend on the extent of his cancer.

PROSTATE CANCER RADIOTHERAPY (commonly called cancer prostate radiotherapy)
Many men suffer from radiation, which is generally considered the best treatment for prostate cancer. This may be with the goal of curing cancer or to reduce and control according to the scene. Often, hormone treatment is given before radiation therapy to help reduce cancer and improve the cure rate. Small cancers do not need this pre-treatment hormone.

TYPES OF CANCER OF THE PROSTATE RADIOTHERAPY
Radiation therapy is the treatment for prostate cancer radiotherapy. This is the most often as X-rays that pass through the body and kill cancer cells in their path known as "external radiotherapy. "The alternative for treatment of the prostate is inside the body using small radioactive sources, known as "brachytherapy". Brachytherapy is only appropriate for a small proportion of men with prostate cancer early and adequate size of the prostate gland. To the advantage of a slightly fewer side effects during treatment, but would not be as effective in curing cancer of the large prostate.

Radiotherapy for External beam PROSTATE CANCER
Most men with prostate cancer have this type of radiation treatment. It is given by a machine called a linear accelerator. This allows high-energy X-rays that are good for killing cancer cells. Linear accelerators are used by radiology technicians, who will also help you to get into the proper position for your treatment and advise you during your treatment.
For treatment the patient must sleep on the couch, thin, closer to those used in CT or MRI. The machine moves around the patient to provide X-rays from different angles, while showing the prostate gland. Each treatment takes about 10 minutes to give the full dose and treatment continues to give every day for several weeks. This will make a significant enough dose to the prostate to kill cancer while reducing side effects treatment.

To ensure you're in the right position and the prostate is treated properly or x-ray image, or more generally of an additional scan before treatment is taken to locate the prostate with precision. At this time also give several tattoos (small dots on the skin), so that when you lie on the couch for each treatment, radiography can be sure they are properly aligned. This ensures that the prostate is considered fully and reduce side effects.

Patients are not able to sense X-ray or even be aware that the machine is in process. However, as patients go through weeks of treatment there are common side effects that can be expected. The most side effects are short term accumulating progressively throughout the treatment, are below or after the end of treatment, and improving quickly enough (few weeks). There are also some long-term or late side effects that may occur.
