What are parabens and why we must avoid

Have you noticed an increase in the number of labels on personal care products with the words "Paraben"? Parabens are synthetic chemicals used as antimicrobial preservatives and are in an extraordinary range products from Hand soap to toothpaste. They are known hormone disrupters and have been found in tumors of breast cancer tissues, but the FDA and the leading cosmetics industry say they are safe. We started to get a handle on the puzzle of parabens and offer following explanations:

The definition of parabens:

Parabens, short for "para-hydroxybenzoate" are a class of preservatives used in cosmetics and personal care products (including pharmaceuticals and food), which are used to prevent bacteria, yeasts and fungi. There are six types of parabens commonly used in personal care products: Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Butylparaben and benzyl. Unlike some complex chemical names, Parabens are easily identified on product labels, and ending with "paraben".

What is a hormone disruptor?

In the 1990s, the community science has become increasingly aware that some synthetic chemicals are capable of interfering with the function of our hormones, these chemicals are known hormone disruptors (also known as endocrine disruptors). With this discovery, many ingredients previously considered safe, such as parabens, are now considered potential endocrine disruptors. Hormone disruptors act by imitating our natural hormones. Our bodies are "fooled" by hormones of imitation, which leads to the corruption of our natural hormonal processes. In the category xenoestrogens are hormone disrupters, the synthetic chemicals that mimic estrogen. A number of studies have shown that parabens fall into the xenoestrogens' Group xenoestrogens may be linked to high rates of breast cancer and reproductive problems in women and decreased sperm count, prostate and testicular cancer in men. The FDA recognizes that the estrogenic activity in the body is associated with certain forms of breast cancer.

L Link paraben in breast cancer:

A study published in 2004 in the Journal of Applied Toxicology found five types of intact parabens in 18 of 20 samples of breast tumors. The study examines this conclusion in the context of estrogen-like properties of parabens and the influence of estrogen on breast cancer.

According to lead researcher Philippa Darbre, the chemical form of parabens found indicated they were absorbed by the skin (through deodorants, lotions and other personal care products). The presence of parabens intact tumor tissue demonstrates not only that these chemicals are absorbed through the skin, but also persist and accumulate in tissues without cancer breast? degradation. This study is one that probably started the "deodorants cause breast cancer scare and taking this risk seriously, the study has not reached a strong link between breast cancer and personal care products.

Should be worried or not?

The FDA and the European Union has reconsidered the issue of safety of parabens and declared safe for consumers, but many people agree that research should be conducted. Many people believe that there is insufficient evidence to warrant caution in the the use of products containing parabens.

EclipseSpa's Philosophy:

The level of parabens lotion in a target = "_blank"> (or not) correctly, but consider this: The parabens were found in shampoos, moisturizers, shaving gels, cleansing gels, sunscreens, topical pharmaceuticals, toothpaste, and other personal care items. In fact, parabens are in the tens of thousands of personal care products. Parabens are a type of xenoestrogens only that women are exposed so that we can imagine the cumulative effect and interaction of parabens with other xenoestrogens, and estrogen in the body – all of which affect endocrine function.

Due to the uncertainty of parabens, Eclipsespa chosen do not create products that contain them, and paraben remain a free society.

With so many unanswered questions about parabens, why not compare the labels next time you buy personal care products? Paraben names are easy to spot, and a good ingredient to avoid.

My doctor is so good that he can check my prostate with his both hands on my shoulders. I do not know what does.
