What you should know about prostate and its diseases
I had heard of prostate disease for years but never thought much of it until a friend developed prostate problems.
Their situation was enough for me to prostate health curious.
I first learned that the prostate is a donut-shaped cluster of glands at the bottom of the bladder between the rectum and the base of the penis. It produces most liquid in semen.
Then I learned that there are three main diseases of the prostate cancer, prostatitis and enlargement prostate.
First we'll talk about the cancer the "great".
In the United States, cancer of the prostate is the second leading cause death among men after lung cancer.
African-American men are twice as likely to contract the disease, like any any other ethnic group in the world. Nobody know why this is so.
Prostate cancer is primarily a disease of aging. Approximately 80 per cent of cases occur in men over sixty-five.
However, the rate of prostate cancer is increasing rapidly in all men, even those under fifty years. In general, the younger a man is when he is diagnosed with prostate cancer, the worst prognosis. His rise from the points young men in the role of diet and exposure to environmental toxins in disease development.
Prostatitis (inflammation prostate) is common among men of all ages. Bacteria The usual cause is infectious invade the prostate from another region of the body.
These Infections can be acute or chronic. Acute infections come on suddenly and may include fever and chills, pain and burning during urination and ejaculation, frequent urination, passing only small amounts of urine and blood in urine. The symptoms of chronic prostatitis are similar but less severe than acute infection.
Usually, prostatitis responds well to home care and antibiotic treatment.
The enlargement of the prostate appears to be a natural process, often associated with aging, and not necessarily a disease, but enlargement progressive prostate cancer. In the United States occurs in about half of all men over fifty years.
The main symptom is the need to urinate frequently, perhaps with pain or burning sensation.
Since the enlargement of the prostate is often not a serious problem (but may vary), we'll talk about these two diseases of the prostate other.
Prostate cancer is usually a slow growing cancer, often without symptoms until an advanced stage. Symptoms include: pain or burning sensation when urinating, frequent urination, a decrease in size and strength of the urine flow, inability to urinate, blood in the urine and discomfort in the lower back. However, these symptoms May be caused by benign enlargement or prostatitis. To get an accurate reading of the situation of vocational evaluation is course recommended.
For treatment, verification is important. This may include a digital rectal exam (which can be very painful) and / or blood test. Ultrasound is one of a series of other tests.
Unfortunately, cancer of the prostate can be difficult to diagnose in its early stages. Several cases are only diagnosed after the cancer has spread outside the gland.
Some treatment options for prostate cancer include:
• Experimental Treatments that freezing cryoablation (cancer cells) and Laser surgery is sometimes used.
• If the cancer has spread to the capsule of the gland, the standard approach is a form of radiotherapy. Try to avoid this situation because it leaves men impotent, 50 percent of the time.
• The removal of the gland may be recommended but consider that almost 50 per cent of men who did this, even with the new nerve "sparing" techniques, become impotent. Watchful waiting, with nutritional support and changes in lifestyle, becoming the preferred method that the cancer is in its infancy.
• Many believe that prostate cancer is one of the most treated diseases in the United States. Doctors in Europe have long used a conservative approach to nutrition with good results.
• Research has shown that soy and its derivatives, such as tofu, soy flour and soy milk, have powers fighting cancer due to the presence of a protein called genistein. It seems to be particularly effective against prostate cancer, but works also against breast cancer in women and colon cancer in both sexes.
Preventing Prostate cancer often includes a combination of foods from Food, which is intriguing to me. Here are some suggestions:
• Eat whole grains, raw nuts and seeds and brown rice. Furthermore, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage and cauliflower and carrots, pumpkin, squash and yams. This type of diet is important for the prevention and cure.
• also include apples, fresh melon, all berries, Brazil nuts, cherries, grapes, legumes (including chickpeas, lentils and beans) and plums.
• Try to drink freshly made vegetable and fruit juice per day.
• Include foods rich in zinc such as whole grains or brewers yeast.
• use organic cold pressed oils such as sesame, safflower or olive oil for essential fatty acids.
• Eliminate red meat, alcohol and caffeine.
• strictly avoided: the junk food and refined foods. Instead of salt, use a kelp or potassium replacement. A little molasses or maple syrup Pure is a good natural sweetener. The joint use wheat or rye instead of white flour.
These are good suggestions, but always looking advice and alternative opinions before deciding what treatment or plan to use.
For treatment of prostatitis, I found two general categories, one treatment at home, then other treatments in general.
Home treatment for Some recommendations are:
• Drink 8 to 12 glasses of fluid per day. Tract additional fluids helps flush Clean urine.
• Eliminate all alcohol and caffeine from your diet.
• Keep stress under control.
• Living Hot bath to help relieve pain and reduce stress, aspirin or ibuprofen may contribute to alleviate the painful urinary symptoms
• Some herbal herbal can help.
• There are several types of hydrotherapy that a professional can advise you about.
• eat 1 to 4 ounces of raw pumpkin seeds every day. They are rich in zinc. Another option is to take the seed oil Pumpkin capsules.
• Exercise regularly. Do not ride the bicycle, which can put pressure on the prostate.
Other treatment options include:
• Treatment with antibiotics and analgesics may be necessary.
• However, prolonged use of antibiotics can cause bacterial resistance, which requires more powerful drugs, plus more complications and medical costs.
Thus, "do it yourself" here seems promising, but of course, always seek professional medical advice.
I would summarize what I studied that, as with any serious illness, an ounce of prevention is better than cure.
Try keeping a healthy lifestyle, do things that seem useful and rewarding for you and will not take long to get medical exams if you have a feeling that something in your body can not keep pace.
