Cancer is a preventable disease in our western lifestyle

Cancer rates have risen steadily since the 1940s. But this This is particularly true in the lifestyle of Western societies. By understanding how this happened, everybody can learn how to protect ourselves.

An epidemic of cancer began in 1940
Cancer rates are rising steadily since 1940. This is not simply due to the use increased testing and the aging of our population has increased cancers among children and adolescents at a rate of 1% per year over the past 25 years. And cancers that have no screening test (lymphomas, cancers of the pancreas and testicles, for example) have grown as fast or faster than they (breast, colon, prostate).

The cancers most common in the west are rare in other countries. In rural China in the years 1980, for example, that researchers using the same tests that we use in the west could not find cases of breast cancer. They were informed by local physicians is a disease of wealthy women! You will find in Hong Kong, but not here. "

When Chinese women migrate to the United States, their risk of breast cancer are American women in one or two generations. The same is true for Japanese men and prostate cancer. Asians are not protected by their genes, but by their lifestyle.

A milestone in 1940: five cases of a cancer epidemic
Five major aspects of our lifestyle has changed since 1940 and contribute to cancer progression:

1. The massive increase in sugar consumption
We have gone from 12 pounds of refined sugar per person per year in 1800 to 154 pounds per person per year in 2000.

Cancer cells feed primarily Sugar. To detect whether a tumor may be present in the body, discusses the use of PET as a simple measurement of radioactive sugar accumulates.

2. The change in the way of feeding the animals we eat
The animals used to eat grass and seeds rich in omega-3 fatty acids that the slow cancer growth. Consequently, meat, milk, cheese, butter and eggs from all sources of omega-3 fatty acids rich. Now that animals are fed in feedlots with corn and soybeans, Omega-3 have practically disappeared from our common foods. Eggs my grandmother feeding me to the farm I was raised was that of a true "healthy diet full of omega-3 DHA needed for brain growth of child. Supermarket eggs have now virtually no DHA and replaced by pro-inflammatory omega-6 arachidonic acid (AA).

A diet rich in omega-6 fatty acids is associated with a significantly increased risk of breast cancer. Because omega-6 stimulates inflammation in the body, is likely to fuel the growth of cancers of many others.

Trans fats, widely introduced in the 1960s, are now present in almost all processed foods (pizza, cookies, French fries, etc..) suspected increased risk of breast cancer by a factor of 2. A report of Dutch government estimates that in 2007 the number of deaths due to trans fats in this country exceeds that due to car accidents.

3. The introduction of chemicals in all aspects of life
DDT was invented just before World War II. Many herbicides and pesticides currents mimic the effects of estrogen hormones in the body. You can stimulate the growth of existing tumors. In 2005, the CDC has found 149 chemicals toxic in the blood and urine of Americans of all ages to be tested. In 2003, the Seattle University School pretest who eat conventional (not organic) food. The level of pesticide residues in urine was high. For some, it exceeded by a factor of 4 times the recommended level Agency for Environmental Protection. Children eating organic food (70% organic or more) had virtually none.

4. Reduced mass of our physical activity
Know someone whose grandparents do not walk to school? How many children Did you know that today more than 10 minutes on foot to go to school? Something powerful has happened to our relationship with the activity physics. Humans are more sedentary than ever existed.

The risk of relapse of breast cancer is 50% lower among women than walking 30 minutes six times a week. Physical activity is a very effective protector against cancer, which we removed from our lives.

5. The disruption of our networks Social Support
We Americans now move on average every 5 years. This means that we change neighbors, often friends, and get increasingly far from our aunts and uncles, our parents and our brothers and sisters.
In times of stress, the most effective protection of physical and psychological the strength of our bodies comes from our intimate relationships. How strong you are today no longer live near each other? Twenty-five percent of us say we have no one in whom we can trust.

An Australian study has shown that women with a stressor in his life and no support respondents had 9.5 times more likely to develop breast cancer.

The encouraging part in this sad picture of an epidemic is that each of us can begin to reverse these changes in society in our own lives. We can decide to balance power, to boost health in us and around us. We can choose a new lifestyle. And in so doing, they may help prevent cancer if you are cancer free, and strengthen our body, if they already have.

I hurt my genitals?

Well if I have testicular cancer (when I was 14 years and hexavalent chromium undergo surgery to remove the cancer and I never realized until now that I have pain when I started and I'm feeling a little cold in my prostate area, my doctor told me and he said it was probably only think of his penis, but I try to explain, but he heard nothing and said his will that said that the prostate is the image is where it hurts (not a penis in the photo sorry) http://www.flickr.com/photos/23270535 @ N02/2251310614 /

I would get a second opinion from another doctor if your doctor tells you nothing. If you've had testicular cancer in May have spread too, I found another doctor.
