A question about a prostate biopsy?

My father, who is 69 had a prostate biopsy last month and goes to hospital the results today. Biopsy had his PSA was slightly better than high or increased very rapidly in a single year from 5 to almost 8. Is it simply because enlarged prostate only? Doctor said that my father has an enlarged prostate. I also read that the results the biopsy can be very misleading because if 'get' a zone of the prostate is healthy, he was told no cancer, then it may be cancer in other parts of the prostate was not examined during the biopsy.
